Imar
Omar ‘Imar’ Shepherd is a passionate and soulful reggae artist, who hails from the parish of St. Thomas, Jamaica, and is no stranger to the music. He started out early in church and community events.
After moving to Kingston, he ventured deeper into his music, where he landed the role of the lead singer for the touring band ‘Crucial’, that performed weekly at the’ Market Place’ on Red Hills Road.
Imar went on to being a guest artist at the famous Tastee Talent Search Concert for two (2) years.
In 2004, he went solo, with his first single “Girlfriend” and went on to doing several such as “Beautiful People” and “That Thing”.
In 2010 he later releases “Woman I need You” and “The Same”.
With his songs getting heavy rotation both locally and internationally, the rising star have been getting noticed across the world from Europe, Usa and the Caribbean.
Imar is a part of the new era of artist who presents a generation of Reggae that keeps in the tradition of crooners who came before him and inspire him such as; Bob Marley, Beres Hammond, Dennis Brown, Leroy Gibbons , just to name a few.
